Our biggest wedding regret...
Looking back at my own wedding, I realised how quickly it had all gone.
We’d had an amazing few days with friends and family but when it came to remembering it, all we really had were a few hundred photos from a photographer who’d only been there for a few hours.
No film of the speeches, no clips of everyone dancing, no sound of the laughter that filled the room. Just still, mostly posed images of what had been one of the best weekends of my life.
Is this normal?
I’d assumed that was just how it went, that unless you paid thousands for a videographer, those memories were just lost to time.
And honestly, that didn’t sit right. Not everyone wants a film crew at their wedding. Not everyone wants to perform for the camera.
I started to notice how many couples I knew had the same experience, amazing days, but nothing that truly captured what it felt like.
It made me think: why are the most meaningful moments the ones we don’t end up keeping?
